And...HE'S OFF!! And...So It Begins.

Isaac is officially mobile! He's not exactly graceful, but he's got his knees under him and he's taking official crawling steps with knees and hands cooperating with each other. He's constantly on the move and it has interrupted his sleeping. It's like he's on speed or something then he crashes finally after rolling around on me to the point of exhaustion - both of us. Last night he wanted to keep moving so long that finally he was just wallering all over me with his eyes closed and his head wobbly until he laid his head on my shoulder and literally passed out. He was so cute, but I was a slobbery mess by the end. Izabel is not sure about what to make of it. She is so gentle, but she looks at us like "What happened to the blob?! He used to just lie there and now he's chasing me down and taking my toys! Then, when he gets me, he pinches me or pulls my ears!" She usually ends the night crawling up on the couch with her ears low and her tail tucked. I think she's caught on that he can't get up on the couch yet. She such a good dog.

Here's a video - I hope you can see it. My camera takes such dark video - you may want to turn off the lights to see it better. I hope it uploads ok.

My husband's friend from work, Eric and his wife Kate invited us over for dinner (again - yummy - Eric is a supurb cook) the other night. We took Izabel over for a play date with their daughter with fur, Abby. After dinner, we had juicy watermelon. As you can see from the pictures, Isaac shared a piece with mommy. By the end, we were both very sticky and sweet.

Before I leave you, Isaac has begun fake crying to get what he wants. Yes, at 8 months old, our child is trying to manipulate us. At first, I thought he was choking or having a coughing fit. I was feeding him his favorite treat - strawberry yogurt melts - and he started making an awful noise. I picked him up and was looking in his mouth to see if he was choking on a yogurt melt. He started wiggling around and I got a little scared because I thought - "Oh, no he can't breathe!" I saw that he was breathing fine and realized he was wanting the treats. I gave him one and he was quiet, looked up at me, and smiled wide. I think that was a big mistake, but I was just so glad that he was breathing!

As Aunt Lizzie said to me, "And so it begins."
