A Little Person

Isaac has begun to do so many things just in the last month and a half! He is approaching his 6 month birthday (on the 24th) - which blows my mind! I was looking back and realized that only a month and a half ago, Isaac couldn't laugh out loud, wasn't eating cereal, couldn't sit up, wasn't awake much during the day, and only smiled sometimes. Now, he laughs, smiles in response, sits up by himself, eats cereal and pears (which he LOVES), and only takes a total of about 3hours of naptime! He has begun playing games of immitating. He will stick out his tongue, smile, and blow air out of his mouth (like a raspberry) then I'll do it. He'll smile, sometimes laugh, and do it back to me. We will play this game for a while. I love it! He's starting to get a personality too. The other day, he was eating cereal and just when he had a mouthfull, he looked at me, smiled, stuck out his tongue and blew - cereal went everywhere! Of course it was so cute that I laughed - oops! He chuckled and did it again - first mommy mistake! It's going to be hard to tell him no when he's so darn cute! (don't worry everyone, I will tell him no - remember the professions that Brian and I have. We both know what happens to children who are never told no. We'll do it, but man he's just so cute!) It just amazes me that he has hit all or most of the developmental milestones for a full-term 6-month-old and he is still more than a week away from his 6 month birthday! And really, if you go by his due date (we are supposed to until he turns two) he's only 4 1/2 months old doing what a 6-month-old should do!! He's 6 weeks ahead! For the first 4 months of his life, he didn't do much and, of course I worried because he was behind. Now, he is learning so much so fast that it blows my mind! There is a video on Christina's blog (the link is on the right of this page) of Isaac at her house a few weeks ago. It at the beginning of the time when he began smiling a lot. She recorded it and has tried to email it to me and such with no success, so go to her blog to see it - SO cute (if I may say so myself).

My husband expressed all of our feelings in one sentence - "It's like he's a real little person!"
Well-said Daddy :)
